In-ovo vaccination (IO) in commercial broilers is becoming the preferred method of vaccination in many countries. This is attributable to the advance it represents in the automation of the vaccination process and the obvious benefits that this technology offers in decreased labour costs, especially when large production volumes are managed in broiler hatcheries.
To optimize the chicken vaccination process even further, it is a common practice to co-administer several in-ovo vaccines in the same injection dose.
A clear example of this is the co-administration of EVANOVO®, the first IO vaccine attenuated by precociousness against coccidiosis in broilers, and GUMBOHATCH®, a next-generation immune-complex vaccine against Gumboro disease, a unique combination designed to provide major benefits to the poultry industry:
– JUST ONE SHOT, achieving lifelong immunity against both diseases with just one application. This reduces the need for multiple vaccinations and simplifies the vaccination process.
– ACCURACY by individual vaccination, improving dosage efficiency and uniformity. Each embryo receives the appropriate amount of vaccine, ensuring effective protection against both diseases.
– CONVENIENCE by making vaccination management easier and faster, saving time and effort.
– WELFARE for day-old chicks by minimizing the handling required after hatch. There is less handling and less stress on the chicks, contributing to their well-being.
The safety and efficacy of the co-administration of EVANOVO® and GUMBOHATCH® chicken vaccines has been demonstrated in the following trial:
Conclusions
The results obtained in this trial allow the conclusion to be drawn that the IO co-administration of EVANOVO® and GUMBOHATCH® is a safe and efficacious approach for the immunization of commercial broilers against coccidiosis and Gumboro disease.
Due to the clear benefits, the association of these chicken vaccines has been officially registered, making it a unique combination on the market.
